We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant to support our nursing and healthcare team in delivering high-quality care to patients. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily patient needs, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support patients with mobility, including transferring, walking, or using mobility aids.
- Help patients with eating and drinking, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Assist nurses with clinical duties and basic medical procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Follow care plans and report any changes in a patient’s condition to senior staff.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or care setting is desirable but not always essential.
- A caring and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Willingness to undertake training and development.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
- Experience working in hospitals, care homes, or community care settings.
